Photo Guide for Custom Pet Portraits

The quality of your reference photos has a major effect on the accuracy and character of a hand-painted memorial.

Best primary photo

• Use a sharp, high-resolution original rather than a screenshot.
• Photograph your pet in natural, even light.
• Choose an eye-level angle with the face clearly visible.
• Make sure the eyes, nose, ears and distinctive markings are not blurred or hidden.
• Avoid strong filters, heavy shadows and overexposed areas.

Additional reference photos

Send two to four extra images showing coat colour, side markings, tail shape or other details that are not clear in the main photo. Tell us which image should be used for the pose and expression.

Important details to mention

• Eye colour and coat colour
• Distinctive patches, scars or markings
• Preferred name, date or wording
• Any feature that must not be omitted

Email the original image files to hello@whisperwoods.co.nz and include your Shopify order number. By sending a photo, you confirm that you have permission to use it for your order.
